Our famous and hugely popular 'Positively Eighth Street' festival returns this year on Saturday May 14, noon - 6pm.
The festival celebrates local businesses, institutions, community groups, as well as the rich cultural history of Eighth Street and Greenwich Village. With live bands, food, games, arts, crafts and over 800 square feet of real grass there really will be something for the whole family.
For the first time ever there will be a musical talent contest at the festival giving children aged twelve to eighteen years old the chance to perform on the West Eighth Street, the street of music legends which includes Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Radiohead .and now you!

The Positively Eighth Street stage has a limited number of spots available for you to perform and demonstrate your talent, with the opportunity to win a private tour of the legendary Electric Studios, where the West Eighth Street music legends recorded, and much of the current HBO hit series, Vinyl, was shot.
The West Eighth Street stage is a fully equipped professional stage. Youll need either your instruments or Ipod/Iphone to play music. A sound engineer will provide assistance to ensure you sound just the way you want.
