Pride in the Village 2024: All You Need to Know

The Village is the heart of New York’s storied LGBTQIA history, a point of pride we’ve dove into in previous years. This year, we’re jumping ahead to the present, where we’re celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and the 54th anniversary of New York City’s Pride March, which runs right along 8th Street this year.

However you plan on joining the party, Village Alliance is here to make your Pride as effortless as possible—enjoy this roundup of the businesses along the route we know you’ll love, along with the event details you need to make sure you don’t miss any of the fun.

A Few Options on the Route:

8th Street Wine Cellar

⟟ 28 W. 8th Street

Escape the summer heat in their cool cellar, or take in the festivity of the open street from a sidewalk seat—however you prefer, 8th Street Wine Cellar is a sure bet when it comes to consistently friendly service paired with exceptional wines, cocktails, beer and food.

Stumptown Coffee

⟟ 30 W. 8th Street

If you’re making the most of your Pride, there’s a strong chance you’ll be in need of some energy and refreshment as the day goes on. We highly recommend Stumptown to take care of both, with excellent iced coffee, cold brew, and plenty of other options to keep you going all day long.

Loring Place

⟟ 21 W. 8th Street

Award-winning Chef Dan Kluger and his team at Loring Place offer a “Celebration of New York and all things local” with their dining—the perfect compliment to getting into the spirit of NYC Pride. Treat yourself to a memorable meal as the energy and light of West 8th Street pours in through the wide front windows.

Murray’s Bagels

⟟ 500 6th Ave

A neighborhood classic, Murray’s Bagels is the perfect on-the-go option for your Pride activity. Since 1996, Murray’s has been consistently serving some of the best traditional NYC bagels you can get your hands on. Get yours this Pride.

What’s On for Pride:

Of course, the star of the show is the Pride March itself, starting at 11:00am and working its way through the afternoon to the site of the Stonewall Uprising. The official march route isn’t released until later on, but there’s already plenty scheduled in and around the march. Keep reading to find out what’s on. . .
