Village Wines & Liquors
The Venue
From New York magazine: “With a jumble of dusty stemware, old champagne boxes, and sun-bleached posters in its front window, this small wine-and-liquor store nearly blends in with the proverbial woodwork. The narrow interior is equally nondescript, with beige linoleum floors, sipper bottles by the cash register, and a sticker reading, “I [heart] Jugs.” The prominent price stickers on the floor-to-ceiling shelves reveal the shop’s driving force. They trumpet relatively inexpensive prices for familiar wines, like Ravenswood chardonnay for $10.99.
