Margaret Wise Brown Residence
The Venue
Beloved children’s author Margaret Wise Brown lived at Cobble Court in the late 1940s and early 1950s. At that time the house was located in the Upper East Side. Thought to be nearly 200-years-old and part of a farm, it was moved from its original location in 1967 to the West Village after it was threatened with demolition.
You can learn more about the house’s move to the Village here.
