Opening Reception of Ruth Miller’s Enduring View

On September 7, 2023 from 6-8pm, the New York Studio School will lauch a solo exhibition honoring the work of Ruth Miller, whose lifework is guided by a meditative and honest portrayal of the world and objects around her. Ruth Miller’s Enduring View encapsulates over five decades of artistic output, juxtaposing her early artworks—featuring rarely exhibited pieces from her period of residence in rural Pennsylvania during the 1960s—with recent depictions of still life and landscapes. This combination allows for an exploration of the technical innovation and concise observations that define Miller’s body of work. Furthermore, a book launch event to celebrate the release of “Ruth Miller: Painted Presence” will take place during the exhibition’s opening reception on Thursday, September 7, from 6 to 8 PM.
