Don’t miss National Dance Institute’s highly anticipated event of the year, “RISE: Celebrating the Life of Dr. Maya Angelou.” This captivating performance will showcase the talent of over 100 extraordinary children from New York City public schools, paying tribute to the remarkable life and legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou. Recognized worldwide as an author, poet, civil rights activist, singer, and dancer, Dr. Angelou’s inspiring voice continues to uplift and empower people of all ages. Directed by Bianca Johnson, narrated by Toni Blackman & Osyris Antham, and featuring special performances by LayeRhythm & Chrybaby Cozie, this event will showcase new and original works by NDI’s team of Choreographers and Musicians. ASL interpretation will be provided for all performances.
