Celebrating the Feast On St. Mark’s
Celebrating the Feast On St. Mark’s
Last week, we closed off the block of St. Mark’s Place between 2nd and 3rd Avenues for an evening of celebrating community and local business. With a full brass band, yard games, chalk art, and games of double Dutch in full swing, we brought the energy and good times to St. Marks Place for our first event of the spring and summer.
In partnership with restaurants, bakeries, and other businesses along the block, we handed out one thousand dollars in “St. Mark’s Money” to attendees, distributed as five dollar coupons to spend at participating businesses, letting people try out a new business at a discount while driving traffic to stores along the block. After the event, we went around and paid each business for the St. Marks Money they’d recieved.
All in all, the evening was a hit, thanks to all our guests and the business owners who so kindly collaborated with us for this. We can’t wait to get back to St. Marks for another celebration soon!
