The Village Alliance Held its 30th Annual Meeting
The Village Alliance was honored to host Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr., Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Councilmember Carlina Rivera, and the Director of the Tony Rosenthal Estate, Dave Petrie at the Public Theater.
The Village Alliance Held its 30th Annual Meeting
The Village Alliance was honored to host Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr., Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Council Member Carlina Rivera, and the Director of the Tony Rosenthal Estate, Dave Petrie at the Public Theater. Highlights below:
– Dave Petrie was awarded the 2023 Norman Buchbinder Award in his role as the Director of the Tony Rosenthal Estate. The award is presented to individuals who have made an outsized impact in the Greenwich Village community. The Tony Rosenthal Estate underwrote and executed the full restoration of the iconic Astor Place Alamo Cube this summer.
– District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr. discussed quality of life issues in New York City and the government’s response and resources for local business owners and residents.
– Scott Hobbs, the Executive Director of the Village Alliance, gave an overview of the organization’s FY2023 and looked ahead to new programming and goals for FY2024.
– Dave Petrie, director of the Tony Rosenthal Estate, told the story of the Alamo Cube, the process of its restoration, and the meaning of the Cube to the community.
– The Public Theater provided their event space The Library for the meeting, and bagels were graciously provided by Murray’s Bagels on Sixth Avenue.
