Valentine's Day is right around the corner! Make sure you and your special someone have a perfectly romantic day in Greenwich Village.
Old-School Valentine's Day
This one is for the traditionalists. For a Valentine's Day evening full of old-school romance and charm, look no further.
First, treat yourselves to a couples massage at Vada Spa. When you're nice and relaxed, head over to Amélie for a romantic french meal, and don't forget to finish with their delicious chocolate truffles. After dinner, head over to the Blue Note for an evening of jazz with Rachelle Ferrell at one of New York's premiere music institutions. Top off the night with a glass of wine or martini at 8th Street Wine Cellar.
Looking for something a little different this Valentine's Day? The Village is filled with fun spots for romance that don't involve candle-lit dinners.
Start off at Barcade on St. Marks, a cool dive bar filled with old-school arcade games. Grab a beer and play some PacMan or compete against eachother in Big Buck Hunter. Afterwards, get artsy and head down to La MaMa for some early evening experimental theater. For an alternative V-Day dinner, try a healthy but decadent vegan meal from Peacefood Cafe. Finish off the evening back on St. Marks place for some exotic desserts at Spot Dessert Bar.
For those who want to celebrate Valentine's Day with a low-key (and low-pressure) but fun date, check out the Valentine's Day Cocktail Class at Analogue. Learn to make classic cocktails from head bartender Zak Snyder while enjoying Analogue's small plates. For cinephiles, catch an indie at the IFC Center.
