July Recap: Public Theater Energizes Astor Place

Over 4,000 people joined the Public Theater’s Block Party, enjoying iconic performances from alumni like Amber Iman, Nikki M. James, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Jelani Alladin. The event featured a dance lesson to “Empire State of Mind,” a captivating performance by the Shinbone Alley Stilt Band, and a newly opened Costume Exhibit.

July Recap: Public Theater Energizes Astor Place

Over 4,000 people joined the Public Theater’s Block Party, enjoying iconic performances from alumni like Amber Iman, Nikki M. James, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Jelani Alladin. The event featured a dance lesson to “Empire State of Mind,” a captivating performance by the Shinbone Alley Stilt Band, and a newly opened Costume Exhibit.

Attendees also enjoyed activities like bingo, shopping at the Flea Market, and signing their names on what will become The Delacorte roof. The day was filled with excitement, community spirit, and the delicious taste of Joe’s Pub fries. It was an unforgettable celebration with the community. Below are some highlights from the event.
