Minetta Tavern
The Venue
Minetta Tavern opened in Greenwich Village in 1937, quickly becoming the local hangout for writers and poets including: Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, Eugene O’Neill, e.e. cummings, Dylan Thomas, and Joe Gould. Today Minetta lives on. Despite renovations in 2009, the look and feel of the original institution remains with a wood bar, tiled floors and a tin ceiling.
