Otto Saturday Afternoon Wine Classes
Keep cool on summer weekends and learn, about wine! Join Otto for their weekly wine classes featuring wines of the world, back to basics, organic, biodynamic and much more!
The fun and educational experiences are hosted at the standing high-top tables in OTTO's Enoteca. Each class includes tastes of five wines (three reds and two whites, unless otherwise noted) and lasts approximately 90 minutes. To complement the wines, classes include the chef’s selection of artisanal cheeses and house-cured meats. All classes are led by a Sommelier from OTTO’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic wine team.

Organic and Biodynamic, $60 – Saturday, July 27, 2019
We all know the difference between a normal apple and an organic apple, but what does it mean for wine to be organic? The answer is different based on the wines country of origin. Is organic wine the same as biodynamic? We will explore what these two terms mean and taste five wines that are organic and/or biodynamic (often they are both!).
Back to the Basics Italy, $60 – Saturday, August 3, 2019
This class will be a focus on the wines you need to know when trying to understand Italian wines. Let face it, Italy is one of the most confusing wine countries with over 2,000 different grape varietals and 300 regions! We will break down how to read a label, understand the different laws (yes their are laws involved), and learn the grapes to important wine making regions.
Barolo vs. Barbaresco, $145 – Saturday, August 10, 2019
Nebbiolo is one of the most important grapes to Italy and it is what gives these two great regions their claim to fame. In this class we will go over the history, wine making styles, and influential producers.
All About Sangiovese, $75 – Saturday, August 17, 2019
If you’ve ever been to Tuscany, you know that Sangiovese is the main grape in all of its great wines. Learn about how this grape dominated the entire region and makes up some of your favorite wines!
The Sicily Craze, $75 – Saturday, August 24, 2019
Sicilian wines seem to be all anyone is talking about right now. This large island is home to some amazing white, red, rosé, and fortified wines! Our class will take you on an island tour of this major wine hub.
Orange is the New White, $75 – Saturday, August 31, 2019
Yes we are talking Orange Wine! This category of wine is blowing up and they are definitely not to be overlooked. In this class you will learn about this ancient method of making white wine; and from this point on you will be preaching the gospel of all that is orange.
