THE MASCUREAIDS BALL & Afterparty
On October 31, 2018, the Research Foundation to Cure AIDS (RFTCA) is holding its first major public fundraiser, the MASCUREAIDS BALL & Afterparty, which is also the official NYC Halloween Parade afterparty!
Billed as a benefit ball from 8-11pm followed by an afterparty at Performance Space New York the event aims to raise $250,000 to $300,000 as seed funding for a new reseach laboratory dedicated to curing AIDS, and to anchor an annual celebratory ball in NYC.
Downtown NYC performance artist Penny Arcade has volunteered to curate the program and former director of the Abyssinian Baptist Church Choir James Davis is curating a special arrangement for the night.
This composition brings gospel members and a gay men’s chorus together in song as the highlight of a program that aims to unite the African-American and gay communities—both of whom have a vital interest in curing AIDS.
The theme for the fundraiser is corporate and individual social responsibility. Corporations and individuals who have demonstrated social responsibility of their own will be recognized.
There will also be an exciting "Best Costume Contest" judged by a celebrity panel, with a $5,000.00 prize for the winner.
