Harmonious counterpoint in Byrd's Mass for Four Voices, rich sonority in a Mendelssohn motet, Arvo Paert's serene Magnificat, Eric Whitacre's lovely Lux Aurumque, which gives the concert its title, two jazzy African-infused numbers from colonial Latin America, and more.

It's all in the Greenwich Village Chamber Singers performance at 8 o'clock on Friday, December 21, at St. Joseph's Church, 371 Sixth Ave at Washington Place.
