The Washington Square Association is pleased to announce its first lecture on contemporary arts in and around Washington Square featuring some of our best and brightest local creative talent.

The first program will focus on the exciting world of theater.

Oskar Eustis, the acclaimed artistic director of the Public Theater, will speak about the enduring legacy of Joe Papp and the inspiration and support the Public Theater provides to a new generation of playwrights and artists.

He will help us understand what makes theater exciting and relevant for today's audience.

Theater begins this exciting series about Creativity In and Around the Square,which will continue with talks on music, literature, and the visual arts.

Proceeds from ticket sales will support new creative work at the Public Theater.
