Many entrepreneurs have a business idea and passion for it. But not nearly as many understand or have the research to prove the idea will work. The goal of this course is to provide you with the tools to analyze your customers, industry, and competitors. You will leave the course with an action plan that can determine if your idea is the right market opportunity. NOVEMBER 20 – NYC Small Business Training Grants Program, 3pm to 4pm
The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) offers a job training grant for eligible small businesses. If you have a staff of 10+ SBS will provide funds to increase the skills of your team. The Customized Training grant provides up to $400,000 to train 10+ employees, with varying skills. NOVEMBER 22 – Small Business Financing: How & Where to Get It @ NYPL Hudson Branch, 2pm to 5pm
Entrepreneurs know that financing is key to starting and growing a business, but the array of options can be difficult to navigate. This course teaches you how to apply financiers’ method of evaluation – the 5 Cs of Business Credit – and explores the advantages and disadvantages of debt-based, equity based, and crowdfunding financing. NOVEMBER 30 – Small Business Saturday in the Village
The 10th Annual Celebration of Small Business Saturday is fast approaching on November 30th. Just after Black Friday, this is the most important day of the year for small businesses to encourage holiday shoppers to visit their local businesses. Last year in 2018, US consumers spent a record high of $17.8 billion at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday. Come out, support and shop small!
