April is a Musical Month of Jazz

April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and rather than dust off that rusty trumpet, why not give a big shout out to our favorite jazz clubs in Greenwich Village?  Check out some of these classic venues and local favorites this month for great jazz programs:

Blue Note: The only jazz capital of the world is right in the heart of Greenwich Village. Celebrate this month of jazz with the Purchase Jazz Orchestra or Scott Tixier Quartet & Friends.

Caffè Vivaldi:Known for their weekly live music events, Caffè Vivaldi includes jazz as part of its eclectic mix. Every Sunday be sure to stop in for performances by the John Lander Jazz Trio

Garage Restaurant and Café: Enjoy live jazz every night or spend your Saturday and Sunday with jazz brunch.

Joe’s Pub:Joe’s Pub may not be a staple jazz club, but it does feature some of the best up-and-coming jazz artists in the City. This month Sweet Megg & the Wayfarers/Feral Foster take the stage with a European take on that classic jazz sound

Village Vanguard: This local institution just celebrated its 80th birthday. Over eight decades it’s played host to some of the world’s jazz greats, like Thelonius Monk and Robbie Coltrane.
