Washington Square Park is Perking Up for Spring

Spring in the Park evokes the smell of cherry blossoms and fresh grass.  It is also the beginning of Washington Square Park's outdoor programming season.  This year, the park kicks off its season with these two great events:   

Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd

"The course of true love never did run smooth"

Shakespeare in the Square, a student group at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, will perform William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream for three performances, rain or shine, in Washington Square Park’s Holley Plaza, Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 and 5:00 PM and Sunday, April 22 at 3pm.  The performances are free and open to the public. Seating is not provided.

Saturday, May 19th

Ever want the company of a furry friend? Head over to Adoptapalooza!

Join the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals for Adoptapalooza.  Meet wonderful cats and dogs for adoption, including pure breeds. This free public event also features  training and agility demonstrations, advice on pet health care, training, and grooming, pet photographers, and other fun activities for the whole family!
